Was killed in action January 25, 1945 while serving as a Staff Sergeant with the 134 Infantry, 35 Infantry Division, U. S. Army.
He was killed in the Battle of the Bulge with eleven other men in his company as they struggled forward in deep snow under heavy and accurate German gunfire during the liberation of Weiswampach in northern Luxembourg. He is now buried in the Highland Cemetery, Junction City, Geary County, Kansas, USA at the age of 30.
