For action performed on D-Day, June 6th, 1944 near Audouville-la-Hubert/Manche department, Basse-Normandie, France.
Pfc. Benjamin Shaub was primarily responsible for taking the Audoville ghost battery wich lay fire on Exit 3 at Utah Beach. He was awarded the Silver Star in recognition for his single-handed charge on the gun crews (105mm German howitzer).
