    Biography

    Albert Visscher went into service with the Dutch Marines on his 18th year with Servicenumber 2850. Until 1939 he served in the "East" (Dutch East Indies) and left Den Helder, the Netherlands, when war broke out on the Hr.Ms. Willem van der Zaan for England. He took part in the Battle of the Javasea on board of the Hr.Ms. Tromp, with which ship he left for Australia. He retired after the war as Sergeant of Marines.
