Thomas W. Auck graduated from the Valparaiso High School in 1942 and attended for a short period to the Valparaiso University. He enlisted on March 25th, 1943 at Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana. He received his basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, Montana, Shreveport, Louisiana and Camp Breckenridge, Kentucky.
