"For gallantry in action against the enemy in Germany, 23 April 1945. During an assault on enemy positions by the infantry battalion to which he was assigned as a medical aid man, Sergeant Harrison voluntarily left the battalion's rear aid station, forded a river with an amphibious vehicle, and located four casualties to whom he administrated immediate treatment after which he evacuated them for further medical attention. The aggressive, courageous and unselfish action displayed by Sergeant Harrison under constant enemy fire reflects high credit upon himself and the military service."
