Biography
Helmut Zittier joined the Lufwaffe in April 1940. He joined the "Geschwader Horst Wessel", Zerstörergeschwader 26, flying the Messerschmitt Bf 110. When war ended he had flown in 33 different aricraft types, including the Messerschmitt Me 262. He survived a total of five crashes and bailed out of a burning aircraft.
