Hauptmann Roos particularly distinguished himself on the night of 01./02.11.1942, where the left wing of his 6. Kompanie was overrun. Launching a counterattack with the rest of the Kompanie and the platoon from the III. Bataillon, Roos was able to eject the Soviets out of the positions they had conquered.
