Biography

Richard Henry Corales attended Robert E. Lee Grammar School and the Fortier High School in New Orleans before starting his medicine study at Tulane University and the Tulane University School of Medicine.

During the Second World War he served from 1943 until 1945 as ships doctor aboard the destroyer U.S.S. Reid (DD-369) in the Pacific. The ship was sunk by a Japanese kamikaze.
