Sergeant Leroy Jackson (Army Serial Number 34562737), Quartermaster Corps, United States Army, for distinguishing himself by meritorious service in connection with military operations against an enemy of the United States from 16 August 1944 to 1 May 1945, in France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. Sgt Jackson's able and unflagging efforts helped maintain the vital flow of materiel of war to the combat elements of the Division. Although rapid advances and swift moves often necessitated long trips over rugged terrain, Sgt Jackson brought his supply convoys through safely and swiftly. His fine work during a month of detached service with the Division Quartermaster won for him high commendation from that unit's commanding officer. By the outstanding manner in which he carried out every assignment given him, Sgt Jackson played an important part in keeping the fighting outfits supplied with the arms, ammunition and fuel with which to crush the enemy.
