    Biography

    Hinrich-Oskar Bernbeck entered service with the Kriegsmarine in 1934. He served as Wachoffizier "U 43", Kommandant "U 4", Kommandant "U 461", Kommandant "UD 4", Kommandant "U 638" and in Stab 9. U-bootsflottille. He finally reached the rank of Kapitänleutnant. During one operational sail (56 days at sea), he sunk one ship with 6.537BRT.
