Richard Bernardelli served as Kommandant "U 805, in whcih he undertook one operational sail (60 days at sea), without sinking a ship. He entered U.S. imprisonment on May 16th, 1945 where he stayed as POW until March 7th, 1946. He finally reached the rank of Korvettenkapitän.
