Description:
"At Campo Morto, Italy on March 14, 1944, when a convoy was caught under intense enemy shelling, he saved 5 vehicles under his immediate commad by voluntaily exposing himself to shells bursting 35 yds away, to direct the trucks to positions of cover. After almost eight hours of continual shelling, during which time he worked for 1/2 an hour to get a stalled truck functioning, he led the convoy to it's objective. His consistant high standard of performance contributed materially to the combat efficiency of his organization."
