    1st Lieutenant John A. Quaid was a platoon leader in Company H, 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division and was initially listed as Missing In Action on D-Day, 6 June 1944. His remains were later recovered and his official date of death was determined to be 23 June 1944.
