    "As D.A. & Q.M.G., British Forces in Pal. & T.J. has proved himself to be a Staff Officer of high order with great administrative capacity.

    It was due largely to his efforts that the transport and supply arrangements for the Force to relieve Baghdad were completed in the shortest possible time. During the Syrian campaign he was responsible for the administrative arrangements which had to be carried out with limited resources necessitating continuous improvisation and which enabled the impetus of the attack to be maintained to a successful conclusion."
