    Biography

    Living in Balikpapan, Sergeant KNIL-Infantry. Professional military. After the Japanese captured Balikpapan in the night of January 23rd/24th, 1942, on February 20th, a group of 75 (possibly 78) civilians and POW's were executed beceause of destruction thattook place to the oil installations. Beekman was on of the many who were driven into sea at Klandassen Ketjil and were executed with machinegun fire.
