Theodorus Tuhumuty lived in Soerabaja at the Zeemanstraat 39. He was married to B. Salhuteru and served as Sailor with the Dutch Koninklijke Marine. He was forced to serve as heiho (helping soldier) with the Japanese but went into hiding together with H. F. Berhitoe, Daniël Joseph and Johannes Latuheru. They were betrayed and executed by the Japanese.
