    Biography

    Arie Boon lived in De Cocksdorp on the island of Texel. He was born on December 3rd, 1891 as son to Pieter Boon (April 11th, 1861 - September 13th, 1928) and Geertje Bruin (April 28th, 1862 - March 5th, 1940). First he was married to Christine Ottilie Georgine Anna Marschall and later to Maria Zwaal. Both marriages ended in a divorce. He worked as a carpenter and fisherman. During the war he had as a resistance fighter a supporting role in the uprising of the Georgians on Texel in 1945. During a walk through the dunes with his dog on April 18th, 1945, he was ambushed by Germans and killed.
