"Warrant Officer Beals was a member of the crew of an aircraft which
successfully fought and destroyed a U-boat. In the attack which was executed in the face of intense anti-aircraft fire from the submarine. Warrant Officer Beals displayed courage, skill and resolution beyond praise."
