He has distinguished himself by courageous conduct in the face of the enemy by having organized in a judicious manner, on behalf of a large intelligence group which cooperated with the Intelligence Department of the Dutch Government, an area comprising of a broad stretch of coast along the IJsselmeer from Soest to Elburg and having gathered, despite great difficulties and broken communities, solid and often mapped information and having transmitted this continuously. Further by having established and maintained, during the Allied liberation offensive, his own, direct telephone connection through the front. In so doing, he has rendered valuable service to the Allied war effort and to the Dutch Government.
