    He has distinguished himself in the face of the enemy by joining an important military intelligence section in the occupied Netherlands, gathering and forwarding information on enemy coast emplacements and a radio tracking station in Zeeland until his arrest in August 1942 and subsequent execution in July. With his actions he rendered valuable service to the Allied conduct of the war and the Dutch Government.
