Biography

Allan Ainslie was educated at Dale College, King Williams Town and became a Cadet of the South African Training Ship General Botha (1929-1930. Subsequently Ainslie became a cadet in the White Star Line and also a Probationary Midshipman RNR.
In 1938 he joined the RAF however.
Ainslie and his total Sunderland flyingboat crew were lost on 29 June 1940 over the North Sea.
Allan Ainslie is commemmorated on Panel 4 of the Runnymede Memorial
