Biography

Robert Le Gras took part in operation 'France' with 4th SAS, 'Samwest' in the second wave from 9th until 12th June 1944, 'Grog' with 2nd BR4 from 13th June until 19th August 1944. On 25th July 1944 he took part in Course Nr 2. After this followed operations 'Spenser' with Squadron 1 from 26th August until 14th September 1944, 'Franklin' with Command Squadron from 24th December 1944 until 30th January 1945 and 'Amherst' from 4th April 1945 with 20/HQ Squadron, 4th SAS. He was killed in action on 9th April 1945 in the Ellertsveld forest near Wezuperbrug, the Netherlands and was buried at the Memorial S.A.S. at Sennecey-le-Grand.
