"On 14 April 1945 during an attack, Sgt Fec’s platoon was advancing towards a strongly defended enemy stronghold situated in a wrecked factory. The enemy surprised the advancing troops by heavy mortars and machine-gun fire. Snipers were in action. Under heavy enemy machine-gun fire, Sgt Fec displayed great bravery carrying on the advance at the head of his platoon and by an encircling movement captured the objective. 23 enemy were killed and 50 were taken prisoner."
