Biography

Leonard Feltham was a Spitfire pilot during WW2, serving with 232 and 127 Squadron and saw action over Dieppe (1942), in the Western Dessert and ended his war service as a squadron leader in charge of flying operations at Palam airport, Delhi

1 March, 1949 appointment in the R AUX AF as Squadron Leader
17 March, 1950: Transfer to Reserve

"This officer has completed two tours of operational duty and has served in both the North African and European theatres of war. More recently he has participated in attacks against the enemy's lines of communication and has inflicted considerable damage on the enemy's mechanical transport. On one occasion when his aircraft was very badly damaged by anti-aircraft fire , Flight Lieutenant Feltham skilfully flew it safely back to base where he made a masterly landing. In the face of the enemy he has displayed initiative, courage and determination of a high order."
