Period:

Rank:
Corporal
Unit:
S Section, Special Operations Executive (SOE), British Government
Awarded on:
May 3rd, 1943
Citation:
"Corporal KJELL ENDRESEN was given the special task of reconnoitring the area for a joint attack with Commando troops, leading to the evacuation of the force. This he carried out most successfully.
When weather prevented the landing of the Commando troops, he made arrangements for food and living accomodation in the coastal district. He was the link between the party which captured the coastal steamer and the remainder. He also secured the provision of the Fishing vessal in which the second half of the force was brought to the United Kingdom.

This N.C.O. showed considerable coolness and discretion in most difficult circumstances.

I recommend that Corporal KJELL ENDRESEN should be awarded the Military Medal.

Signed:
Colin Gubbins
