Biography

Drouilh initially served with the artillery (cited in 1916), but was transferred to aviation in June 1917. He destroyed four enemy aircraft during WW1, while being wounded twice.

Mobilized in September 1939, Drouilh refused the armistice and joined Free French Forces in British Nigeria in June 1940. He subsequently served with the FAFL in Africa and the Middle East. In October 1942, Drouilh left his group to join the FAFL General Staff in London.

Returning from his third dropping mission in France in the night of the 16-17 December 1943, Lt. Drouilh was killed in an air crash, when his Halifax crashed in the Channel ivo the Essex coastline due to bad weather conditons.
