"For over two years Squadron Leader Chambers has commanded the Headquarters Forecast Unit at Alaza, the focal point for the reception and distribution of meteorological reports and forecasts in this Command. In addition, he has organized and supervised most secret meteorological cryptography, the results of which have been of great value and have earned the commendation of the parent organization in this country. He has displayed great technical ability and organising skill and has the gift of infusing enthusiasm in all personnel under his command. Recently Squadron Leader Chambers was sent on a meteorological mission to Turkey which proved most successful."

"Prior to being posted to this Headquarters as Deputy Chief Meteorological Officer, Wing Commander Chambers had for several years ably commanded No.1 (Middle East) Meteorological Unit at Almaza, the focal point for the reception, compilation and distribution of Meteorological reports forecasts and analyses in this Command. During the past few years the research work of Top Secret meteorological cryptography at Almaza attained its greatest success and on several occasions commendations have been received from the United Kingdom. This has been largely due to this officer’s outstanding technical abilities and zeal, combined with the facility with which he has infused enthusiasm in the meteorological and signals personnel under his command. Wing Commander Chambers has performed outstanding work which has earned special recommendations on several previous occasions."
