The following press article describes why Schlebrügge received the Knight’s Cross…

“Major von Schlebrügge and his Kompanie (hailing from Hundalen) completely wiped out a Norwegian battalion near the Swedish border. With this act the entire ore railway line all the way up to the Swedish border has now come into German possession. In all the subsequent defensive battles he distinguished himself in the thick of the fighting through outstanding bravery and energetic leadership of the units subordinated to him.”
