"As an Instrument Mechanic Class I throughout the operations against Bologna from 13th-21st April 1945, he carried out a large number of repairs with the utmost efficiency and the minimum of time. Thus making possible the continual working of the Brigade wireless links, he always showed exceptional devotion to duty full understanding of the importance of his work. Which very often extende beyond his normal duties.

Especially on 16th April 1945, St. Castel Guelfo, when a breakdown of wireless sets of te Tactical Headquarters caused an interruption of wireless communication with the fighting units. In spite of heavy artillery and mortar fire , he quickly replaced the set, thus re-establishing a firm link during the fighting on the Gaiana River on 19th April 1945, by replacing of the wireless sets and variometer of the Commanding Officer of the 13th Rifles Battalion on the immediate battlefield. He enabled the Battalion commander to keep in touch with the commander of "Rak Force"".
