"During the pursuit cos by 9th Battalion towards Bologna, when the Company was in process of entering the City at 5.15 Hours 21st April 1945. Rifleman Wohlert was the first to spot a German counter attack and he immediately opened fire with his Thompson sub machine gun wounding two German's. Thus checking the enemy and gaining time for appropriate action on the part of the company. By his action and steadfast courage he contributed to the satisfactory annihilation of the enemy."
