"Serjeant Wodzyński on 19th April 1945, during operations along river Gaiana drove a bulldozer D8 working from 0800 to 1800 hours under enemy artillery and mortar fire and opened up all diversions, approaches to rivers and filled in a series of craters along the road as instructed. He worked without stopping and without an assistant, who in the early morning had been wounded. A fine example of a soldier, he has on numerous occasions shown great personal courage. As the operator of the bulldozer he very materially assisted the further development of the operations."
