Gerardus Theodorus Rensen served during the war in May 1940 as enlisted Private with 3de Sectie, 2e Compagnie, Ie Bataljon, 8e Regiment Infanterie. Was stationed along the Grebbelinie on May 12th, 1940 in the Northern part at the Grebbesluis called the Hoornwerk with as strongpoints the casemates S-13 and S-14 and the atnit tank defence P.11.
During the fightings of May 12th, 1940 he was killed and reported as missing in action which he still is.
