Niels Uitdenbogerd was, in spite of his Dutch last name, born in the USA as son to Dirk Uitdenbogerd and Maria Uitdenbogerd-Duhr. Why he was in the Netherlands and if he was Dutch or American is yet unknown.
Niels lived in Bemmel at D 39 but his personslicence shows Valburg at the Tielsestraat 47 and before that in Nijmegen at Tooropstraat 211. It is not known why he was in Nijmegen when the bombardment took place on February 22nd, 1944. He was killed in the bombardment and buried at the Protestant cemetery in Ressen.
