Biography

Heinz Schweizer, born in Berlin in 1909, served as an officer in the Wehrmacht and defused hundreds of bombs during World War II, earning the Knight's Cross. Known for his innovative methods, he shared his expertise as director of pyrotechnician courses. Captured by the US in 1945, he was later released and returned to Soviet-controlled Klobbicke.

Schweizer defused the unexploded mine from AJ-E and transported it to Kalkum, near Düsseldorf, for analysis.
