Biography

In the First World War he volunteered for a Bavarian infantry unit. He was wounded several times, including in the battle of Verdun. During the war he was left with an Iron Cross.

Koegel became a member of the NSDAP and the SS in 1932.
Working in KZ-Dachau since April 1933, then in the following camps:
KZ Columbia-Haus, KZ-Lichtenberg, KZ-Ravensbrück, KZ-Majdanek and KZ-Flossenbürg.

After the war, Koegel tried to avoid an arrest, but was nevertheless arrested by the US army in Bavaria in June 1946. During his imprisonment, Koegel committed suicide on June 26.
