"This officer possesses drive, determination, energy, enthusiasm, cheerfulness and a marked devotion to duty. All these qualities he applies and concentrates on his work. For the past year he has been Senior Intelligence/Operations Officer and all his efforts in this position have been of a high standard. His one aim is to accumulate knowledge which might be of value and help to the flying crews and he imparts this knowledge with consistent success. As Photographic Officer, he has brought this important Section to a high degree of proficiency and considerable success has been achieved on the station with night photography. In addition to these duties, Squadron Leader Shepherd runs other work on the Station with gratifying results. He is undoubtedly an Officer with a high sense of duty who works long and untiring hours and never spares himself in his efforts to help the flying crews."
