Recommendation:
"2/Lieut. Johannes Antonius STEMAN, wireless operator, was sent to Holland on a special mission and was dropped thee by parachute on the night of 31st March 1944.

This officer steadfastly stuck to his post in spite of the fact that he could have returned with his organiser.
He has maintained continued wireless contact with this country in spite of great personal danger and discomfort and through his tenacity it has been possible to transmit to HOLLAND special SHEAF directives. He has given us valuable information on rocket sites and troop movements.

His mission, although not spectacular, is one of the most hazardous imaginable and for an operator to maintain wireless contact over a period of seven months is an achievement of the highest order.

He is still active in the field and remains one of our most valued links with HOLLAND."
