    "Although the gun position was being shelled and bombed on and off all day on the 23rd May, and was also under rifle and L.A. fire, Capt. Holland showed great coolness, and after dark succeeded in getting away all the wounded and some others to CALAIS. After getting to Dover he made two trips back in Boats lent by the navy, his object being the try and get to the gun position as he was not certain that a R.D.F. Transmitter had been sufficiently destroyed."
