Biography

Son of Leslie and Doris. He joined the navy aged 15 years old, prior to WWII.

Long service seaman, Portsmouth Port Division. Served, amongst others, on the submarine 'Safari'.
The Safari sank the largest amount of tonnage during the war. Was awarded the DSM, Distinguished Service Medal, by the King at Buckingham Palace. Rear Admiral Ben Bryant was the captain on the Safari who wrote a book about the Safari exploits during the war, called One Man Band, later republished in the USA, as a paperback, under the name Submarine Commander.
