Biography

Sydney Sutcliffe was the son to Arthur Sutcliffe and Rhoda Sutcliffe. He at first served with the Royal Welsh Fusiliers in France during the opening stages of World War One. Later he volunteered into the Royal Flying Corps. As an observer with No. 10 Squadron het took to the air near Arras in a Bristol F2b with pilot Justin McKenna. During a dogfight the plane was shot down and both were killed.
