23.08.1942: Oberfeldwebel, Flugzeugführer, 2./ KG-2, KIA during a night raid when Do 217E-4 Werknummer 4267 coded "U5 + SK" (or CK) was shot down by a RAF Beaufighter night fighter, and crashed at East Walton, King's Lynn, Norfolk. Remaining crew (all KIA):
