Memorial Meuwsen Brothers
On 19 September 1944 a German fighter was shot down near Groessen. The pilot of this aircraft landed in the 'Pannerdense Waard'. Jan (23 years) and Piet (17 years) Meuwsen saw this happen and they went for a closer look. They were arrested by German soldiers and later they were executed without a clear reason.
