Woodson House

Colonel Robert A. Smith died in this house on 18 September 1862 of wounds sustained the day before. The Woodson House was heavily damaged in the battle. The Woodsons rebuilt their home using the same foundation and much the same design as the original. The old Summer Kitchen is the original.
The Battle of Munfordville (Battle for the Louisville-Nashville Railroad Bridge) took place from 14 to 17 September 1862. This battle is also known as the Battle at Green River. The battle resulted in a Confederate victory.
