Tunnel on Cheatham Hill

This tunnel was used by Illinois units to approach the Confederate lines on Cheatham Hill during the Battle of Kennesaw Mountain.
The Battle of Kennesaw Mountain took place on 27 June 1864. The Confederates repulsed an Union attack. The Union lost about 3000 men (dead, wounded, missing of captured), the Confederates 1000.
