Battle of Averasboro Memorial

This memorial in Chicora Civil War Cemetery, in Averasboro Cemetery, commemorates the Battle of Averasboro.

In the Battle of Averasboro, on 16 and 17 March 1865, 26,000 Union soldiers fought against 8,000 Confederates. The Union lost about 650 men (dead, wounded, missing or captured), the Confederates about 800 men.
