Graffiti House

The Graffiti House was used as a hospital by both Union and Confederate forces. The walls of the second floor still contain inscriptions from soldiers. The house is now also used as Visitor Center for the Brandy Station Battlefield.
The Battle of Brandy Station (Battle of Fleetwood Hill), on 9 June 1863, was the largest cavalery-battle in the American Civil War. On the Union side, 69 men were killed, 352 wounded and 486 missing/captured. The Confederates lost 523 men.
