Memorial Battle of Arapiles

Monument erected on the hill "Arapil Grande", commemorating the significant victory of the Anglo-Luso-Spanish forces over the napoleonic troops on 22 July 1812.

Coordinates of the monument : (40.88910, -5.62481)
In the distance, on the right of the monument : the hill "Arapil Chico" and, further afield, Salamanca.

Access : from (40.89464, -5.63117) along the road DSA-106. take a 800-m long earth road (suitable for an ordinary car by dry weather) up to (40.88847, -5.62785), i.e. at the foot of the uphill path signposted "Ruta de la Batalla". From there, another ca. 250 m to walk.
