Artillery Museum Draguignan

The museum was established from the French Artillery Training Center located in Draguignan.
Scattered national collections were brought together here and play a crucial role in preserving French military heritage.

Dioramas, mannequins, and models depict major battles involving the French artillery.
The exhibition features mortar engagements during the Italian campaign in 1943, the artillery duel at Dien-Bien-Phu.

The visit generally demonstrates the technological advances in the evolution of artillery weapons, including field, anti-aircraft, naval, and fortress artillery.

The hall of honor includes, in addition to the banners of disbanded artillery regiments, a relic of a banner from the 17th Battery, 204th Division Heavy Field Artillery Regiment, saved by Sergeant R. Pagnon. The regiment received the order to destroy its banners on 20 th May 1940, near Charmes. A portion of the banner that remained unburned was taken by Sergeant Pagnon and hidden from the Germans for five years in six different POW camps. It has been part of the museum's collection since 1992.
