Anderson Manor in Dorset is a Grade I listed Jacobean house, begun in the late 16th century and completed in 1622 by John Tregonwell. The Tregonwell family owned it until 1902, after which it was restored in the early 20th century. Architecturally, it retains its E‑shaped plan, gabled wings, and formal gardens, now also listed.
During the Second World War, the manor was requisitioned, initially, as the headquarters of the Small Scale Raiding Force (SSRF) attached to 62 Commando and became the planning centre for Operation Pinprick. In 1943 the SSRF were disbanded and the house was commandeered by the Special Operations Executive.
