POW Cemetery Zchepa II

Friedhof IV, POW cemetery Zchepa II formerly "Russenfriedhof Truppenübungsplatz, Hunt 84".

At the Zschepa II cemetery, from September 1944 until the liberation of the prisoner of war camp Zeithain on 23 April 1945, prisoner of wars were buried in 8 mass graves.

The corpses were pushed to the graveyard by small Soviet prisoners on small dump trucks by rail.

Until the definitive closure of the Red Army's lazarets on 12 December 1945, 453 POWs and forced laborers died while waiting for the return journey to Russia.
